Weekly Update 25th October 2013

This week we have been busy preparing for next Thursday's Halloween event on #Prestatyn High Street in conjunction with Prestatyn Town Council and Totally Locally Prestatyn. 

Today a number of us are attending a jobs fair at a school in Rhyl to talk about our businesses and artisan skills.  Part of our ethos as a social enterprise is to pass on our skills and knowledge, to benefit the wider community. Today we are talking to infants and juniors, it will be good to see if the interest is there for traditional skills.

A wonderful day in Prestatyn so far and only Two weeks to the Pumpkin Carving

With only Two weeks until Artisans Collective are involved with the "Trick or Treat" day on our High Street, I hope the weather is as good as it today.

Weekly Update

It has been a busy week at Artisans Collective with a number of meetings and lots of background work going on to secure the new premises, organisation of the Halloween pumpkin carving and the Christmas lantern event. I know formally we should be calling it a festive lantern event but , there is somewhat of a traditionalist inside me that says it is an event mainly for kids and they love Christmas not festivals :-)

We are hoping to have a moving in date withing the next 2 weeks. This week we have had a number of enquiries about joining us from outside of our locality but still within Wales, yet surprisingly few from North Wales. This could be a result from being included within the arts council website.. One of my old friends from my motor sport days has sent over some of his pictures just to show me this week, I often say how jealous I am of talented artist's but this really brings out the green eyes, as he gets to also visit a lot of great tracks :-)

An interesting day in Prestatyn

We had an interesting meeting with Sandy from DVSC  this morning and will be organising our new CIC's Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks (previously CRB checks)  over the next few days, so those of you involved will be contacted tomorrow with details.

These will be necessary  for our upcoming work with #Prestatyn council and other projects with our local community.

Talking of the council we had a meeting with them this afternoon, and the pumpkin carving project is nearly fully organised now, whilst the festive events are still waiting for permissions to be granted.

Currently we are working hard to get our website up the search engine rankings at the moment artisans-collective.org.uk scores 9.2 - on website testing by Nibbler

We are now using Google Plus, Blogger, Twitter, Facebook and  Pinterest to raise awareness of our activities, in under two weeks to have such a good rating is very good.  But still lots to do.
