About Us

The story behind Artisans Collective CIC started over two years ago when a group of ladies in Prestatyn started a group “Talented Ladies Co-operative” and were looking for a more permanent outlet for their hand crafted items rather than the usual weekend craft events.
The group has gone through a number of changes since then, with a couple of members forming a community Interest company and run Gifted, an Artisan shop in the neighbouring town of Rhyl .
During 2013 the group with its changed name of Talented Local Crafters (TLC) mainly organised weekly “Artisans on the high street” each Thursday under red gazebo’s, and were very instrumental in the successful Totally Locally campaign in the town.
A number of the regular attendees each week could see that there is still a need for an outlet for local artisan items in Prestatyn, and realised through their involvement with the business forum, town and country councils that they could add a certain unique style of outlet to the town, not just for selling product but for offering additional things such as craft courses and training sessions for the wider community.
Thus Artisans Collective was born in July 2013, helped and supported through the process by Denbighshire Voluntary Services Council’s  Social Enterprise Officer, Sandy Williams.
The company was registered at companies house and passed the criteria to become a social enterprise. i.e.  a company which reinvests its profits for a social purpose as opposed to redistributing them.
We are currently in the process of obtaining premises in Prestatyn, and are looking for practitioner artisans of all descriptions to join us.
